people in the comments don't understand ...they literally profited off their story and trauma. yes the documentary was good, but they did nothing to help the ppl in it.

Thank God for SISTER....QUEEN MELBA!!! She truly got my attention years ago...with this song!!! I believed and I did live my IMPOSSIBLE dream.
She kinda reminds me of Lynn Whitfield
ummm. ok, why did you go in through middle door? the Door entry was mostly on left side. Also why were the downstairs rooms w bar ignored as well as the infamous upstairs VIP room? The go go danders hanging from ceiling??/ All most memorable areas of the LImelight. Dont mean to be harsh but ust sayin
Very cool. Would be cool to see a walkthrough animation of the entrance, through different rooms.
Please let me know how to get a flag please...this is so beautiful!
Paris is Burning is one of the best films I’ve ever seen. Irregardless of it being based around the LGBT. Its one of the best documentaries and movies. Period
A true icon
SOOO ... White people learning vogue is assumed as part of it progression. They have been in vogue for YEARS!!! Not the beginning. But decades! However, just like when I went for a Salsa Class in Harlem ...and a white girl came out to teach ... How do you feel comfortable. We NEVER publicly taught vogue. That was part of its fascination. The community it BELONGED to ...learned from the people of the community. To commercialize such an underground, beloved outlet of the pushed to back streets of downtown GLBT ppl ....and its NOT them doing it ....Wow. They vogued on the bridge and if it were on the BLOCK ...it may have been a shoot out ! It was fought to have the comfortablity you have today. Vogue was ALWAYS directly linked to the underground community that mad our own stars and celebs and family. You never see a BLACK man teaching Ancient Chinese dance for a reason. That's a fascinating dance culture too.
YES OCTAVIA! powerful words elegantly started! u need to speak more! u totally drew me in. keep WERQ'n it. u are so beautiful outside and stunning on the inside! wishing you many blessings!
God bless you Angie love your story we all have a story to

SORRY MYSTERY BABYLON AMERICA THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS WERE NOT CROSS DRESSING SODOMITES...AND THEY CONSIDERED SODOMY ABHORRENT BEHAVIOR,,...PUNISHABLE BY LONG PRISON TERMS!!!!
AMERICA SURELY IS...... MYSTERY BABYLON!!!!
I CAN NOT HELP BUT NOTICE THE VAST MAJORITY OF THOSE DEEPLY INVOLVED IN THE N.Y.C. DRAG SCENE ....DIE PREMATURELY !!! IT CAUSES ONE TO PONDER WHY!!!!
I love you family...

Truly gone too soon. I adored his genius contributions and influence in the world of clubbing, fashion, nightlife, dance & house music and of course voguing. I miss him. Imagine what he could've done with current tech.
love the documentary; history all right including not to miss the two towers in the background.
Omg I loved him an miss him so much 🥺😢..

I use to see her on the train, sitting quietly, alone and poised, very ladylike, these pics are an ok depiction of her beauty but seeing her in person is a whole different ball game, her complexion was caramel and flawless not bleached, I think some people are not understanding photography and lighting, I'm in the life but more on the hard side, never dated a transgender but she always had me staring, she was truly beautiful. May she rest in peace
In 2021 its so good to see & have so many transgender woman and men working together, & fighting for something bigger TOGETHER.. in rebuttal to Octavia’s closing comments.
She,underrated., be forever my girl. Hard fighter.
I understand their plight 100%. Thy each knew their worth as beautiful, talented creators of art and culture, and when someone said "movie" they thought this was going to be it. The golden ticket. That someone, somewhere, in a position of power would see them and make a call. Fashion, art, models, music, Hollywood, dance, Broadway, there were so many industries that every one of the cast could’ve easily stepped into and made their mark. But instead, once PIB presented them to the world they were referred to as whores and junkies and their artistic property and creations appropriated, replicated or outright stolen. I empathise and feel their pain.
I love this video...I lived in San Francisco at the time of this video...It was a wonderful place back then. I have countless happy memories of living there at that time. Thank you for making this and posting it. I loved watching it.
Love the old Vogue
The one thing no one said they didn’t like, was the portrayal of AIDS/HIV being a gay/Black/Latino disease. That’s the only part that pushed the wrong thought process .
This film has had such an impact on culture … its cannot be understated.
